Jody Kuchar (Kinsey) was born in Chicago Illinois (USA) and currently is the founder and Managing Editor of ScribeSpirit.org, a free, international eZine. ScribeSpirit presents visual and literary art which celebrates the unity and diversity of all people and all countries. It has had an online presence since mid 2005 and continues to enjoy a wider audience. Jody attended the University of Chicago, where she studied psychology and sociology. Eventually she switched her studies to ancient languages, and she holds degree in Assyriology and cuneiform. Jody is a visual artist who works in acrylic and watercolor paint medium, small metal sculpture and drawing. Jody is also a poet, short fiction, essay and sometimes entertainment writer who has been published in print and online. Some of Jody's publishing credits are: Door County Advocate, The Door Voice, Amelia Poetry Journal, Sparrowgrass Poetry Anthologies, Other Voices International (a U.N.E.S.C.O. World Heritage Website), Poetry Life and Times, Tipton Poetry Journal, Companion Parrot Quarterly, and ScribeSpirit. In 1999 Jody's short story, "A Fine day for Ducks", won a 5th Place Award from New Century Writers; and more recently many of her poems were award recognition winners on Creative Poems website.
Jody makes her home in America where she vents her disgust at government and politics in general. She is owned by a loquacious parrot, Sunkist, and married to her best supporter, friend and lover, Ken for almost 17 years. In summer she swims until her flesh is tanned and pruny, and in winter, she waits for summer to return and dreams of fat, speckled lizards.
