Claire Nixon was born back in 1973 and lives in the North East of England and is married with five children. She has been a member of UKAuthors.com[1] since August 2003. In May 2006 she was 'UKAuthors Writer Of The Month' She is an active member of several writing forum's/discussion groups and runs her own website 'Simply Claire'


Writing Edit

Claire began writing in September 2002 after her love of reading inspired her to have a go at the craft. She self-published her children's story 'Tabitha & Pirate Jim'in 2004 as a gift for her eldest daughter Tabitha, which is to be transformed into an audio tale later this year. More Pirate Jim stories are planned in the series.

Published Edit

Claire has several publishing successes to her name. Many of her short stories have been published in magazines and e-zines. She has also had varied success in several competitions notably in the Coast to Coast International Writing Competition. She also has had contact from several publishers interested in her first novel 'A Writers Story' and has been published in UKA's anthology Voices From The Web.

Twisted Tongue Magazine Edit

Claire is the founder, editor-in-chief and life blood of the magazine Twisted Tongue. The first edition was launched in February 2006 to rave reviews and unbelievable first edition sales. The magazine is available in pdf and print format.
